We want to do all we can to make your visit as comfortable as possible. The TVs on the ceiling can certainly help you relax when you find a show that you are interested in. At Mirci Dental we offer:

  • Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) – You breathe this through your nose. We can regulate the volume and percent that you receive. This method can help you relax and take the edge off of the visit. We always ask how you are doing and change the volume or percent as needed. Usually within minutes after the nitrous oxide is removed you feel fine and are able to drive and complete your day.
  • Oral medication (sleep pills) – This method can have you much more relaxed. You will usually be sleepy during the procedure. You can still answer and/or obey commands (such as, open a little wider). You are monitored during the procedure. You cannot drive to the office or from the office. Patients usually do not remember much about the visit.
  • IV, or deeper, sedation – We at Mirci Dental work with a dental anesthetist for a deeper sedation. The anesthetist administers the medication and monitors you while Dr. Mirci or Dr. Reynolds are doing the dental work. This is especially helpful for medically compromised patients, and the young as well as more mature patients who need extensive dental work.

Sedation dentistry is designed to help you feel more comfortable. When you receive a sedation treatment, our dentists and team will monitor you to ensure that you are safe and that you remain comfortable while in our office. If you receive general anesthesia, an anesthesiologist will also be on hand to administer the sedation and monitor you. Depending on the type of sedation you receive, you may also need someone available to drive you to and from your appointment. During your initial consultation our dentists will discuss these options with you and provide you with information and instructions so that you can prepare for your appointment.
